Salum is an International Trade and Economics of Commodities specialist with more than 12 years in Project Management, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning, Research design, data Analysis and reporting. He has interest in excelling in project management, research designing, publications and entrepreneurship.

Salum has been with Kilimo Trust since 2013 and has been part of the implementation team that developed various research products under Kilimo Trust: such as different VCA studies, Evaluation and baseline studies, Market systems analysis, Policy Analysis, and briefs development. He has particularly been involved in the design and implementation of various projects including DIMAT, E3ADP, Sweet potatoes and Yam project, CARI I&II, CARI EA, REACTS I, CHIPS and the Scaling-up Organic Fertilizer Production for Sustainable Avocado Agriculture project. He is now supporting Team Leader roles in managing and oversee projects in KT Tanzania country office as officer in charge.

Salum has a MSc in International Trade and Economics of Commodities from University of Dar es salaam in collaboration with UNCTAD and Bachelor’s degree in applied Statistics from Mzumbe University. He has attended various professional trainings on data analysis, Information Security Management Systems (ISO), results-based monitoring and evaluation, advanced management Information System Applications (MIS), MS Project and Geographical Information Survey (GIS) – ArcMap, Farmer Business School training of trainers (FBS), Contract farming trainer, among others.
