Scaling-up Organic Fertilizers Production for Sustainable Avocado Agriculture is the business partnership facility project in Tanzania funded by King Baudouin Foundations for the period of two years i.e. January 2021 to December 2022. The project is implemented by lead partner Guavay Company Ltd. (for-profit, fertilizer production) and project partner Kilimo Trust in two districts of Njombe and Rungwe in Njombe and Mbeya regions, respectively. The project goal is to change the standard of avocado production through application of organic fertilizer. Organic fertilizer has an impact on socio-economic conditions sector-wide while it benefits environmental conditions making it a more sustainable agriculture practice. The main objective of the project is to scale up production of organic fertilizer production to meet local demand for fertilizers while in parallel contribute to improving the socio-economic conditions of avocado farmers.
