The Good Food for Cities Programme, locally named “Imirire Myiza Iwacu”, has been promoting the establishment of school kitchen gardens in Rubavu District. This activity is part of the larger programme which promotes sustainable production, inclusive markets and enabling environments. The programme aims to achieve sustainable incomes for farmers, whilst increasing consumers’ access, choice and consumption of affordable, diverse, highly nutritious and healthy fresh vegetables and food. by Rikolto International SON in partnership with Kilimo Trust Rwanda and the Rwanda Consumer’s Rights Protection Organization (ADECOR), the program is funded by the Belgian development cooperation.
