  • The second phase of the Growth A Tree Everywhere (GATE – II) project is funded by Total Energies EP Uganda (TEPU) and implemented by Kilimo Trust in Uganda.
  • The project aims to mark a significant stride towards sustainable agroforestry practices in Buliisa and Nwoya districts. This initiative, spanning an 11-month plan, embodies a commitment to environmental stewardship, community prosperity, and sustainable development.
  • GATE – II project aims to create climate-ready landscapes by planting 100,586 trees across 250 hectares, encompassing public institutions, villages, and parishes. Notably, GATE-II prioritized gendered green investment campaigns, engaging 500 women and 1000 youths who planted over 10,000 trees on allocated lands.

Anticipated Deliverables

GATE-II aims to distribute 75,000 tree seedlings and provide training to 1,500 smallholder households in tree management practices. The diverse range of activities includes project inception meetings, radio campaigns, household surveys, database development, stakeholder engagement, and training sessions. 

These efforts collectively sow the seeds of a sustainable and prosperous future in Buliisa and Nwoya districts.
