CARI-EA Initiative improving livelihoods across borders
When the Competitive African Rice Initiative in East Africa (CARI-EA) Project was started three years ago, it was implemented in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania with the aim of enabling locally produced rice in East Africa to competitively substitute the current more than $300 million worth of rice imports to the East Africa Common Market.
